Family Life Skills thoroughly prepares young men and women for "real life" as they enter adulthood. It covers everything from boundaries in dating relationships to handling gossip, resisting peer pressure, time management, money management, self-esteem, marriage preparation, child development/parenting skills, and facing aging and death. It is written from a Christian perspective, and supports its claims with Scriptural references throughout. They also include a lesson on a a different culture at the end of each chapter, which I found very interesting and written quite objectively.
I am a licensed mental health counselor, and found the psychological component of this material very accurate. I would recommend this book to any young person, or even an adult who wishes they has been taught "life skills" years ago (it is never too late to stop learning!) |
