This book tells about two friends, Polly and Digory, who are roaming around other people's attics. They come to Digory's attic which is actually Digory's uncle's workshop. Digory's uncle is a magician. He shows Polly his beautiful green and yellow rings. She tries a yellow ring on. Instantly she disappears into another world. Will they go after her? Read the Chronicles of Narnie to find out!
Different people have different opinions to what the message is. In my opinion the message is use your imagination. In books anything is possible!
This book is truly one of the most interesting books I have ever read. When you get on with the series the books get even better because when you finish the series the seven books all come together and make sense! This is a book and series that anyone can enjoy especially if you love magic!

YO!! Have you ever wanted tot be able tot go to a magical land filled with amazing creatures? Then The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis is the book for you. It's also the first book in the Narnia series.
This book is about a boy named Digory and his good friend Polly. One day they were playing in Polly's room when they found a secret door that led through all the neighbor's attics to Digory's . And in their attic- Witch was locked off from the rests of the house- was a box of beautiful magic rings. At that moment Digory's uncle stormed through the door- Digory was living with his aunt and crazy uncle because his mom was very ill- and asked if Polly would like a ring and as she put the ring on she disappeared so Digory asked where she went. She went to Narnia. So being the heroic friend Digory was he went out to save her.
In this book Digory and Polly stumble into an enchanted world called Narnia. Along the way they have to stop an evil witch called Jadis with the help of Fledge the flying horse, some talking animals, Aslan the talking lion, and a touch of luck. This is a great book for kids 7 and up. ENJOY!!

The magician's nephew
You have just been sent to a world where a lamp post would grow a light bulb tree within 5 minutes. Digory moved to London and met a girl named Polly Plummer. Digory's uncle teleports them both to another world where there is no life at all. Digory rings a bell and a statue of a witch comes to life. They teleport away to a land called Narnia where animals can talk. A lion named Aslan sends Digory on a quest to get an apple from the tree of life and plant it so it will always protect Narnia from the witch. I recommend this book because it was cool to read how magical Narnia is, how digory grew up through the story, and what all the other animals did to digory's uncle when they thought he was a tree.
Narnia is a place where anything can happen. When a street lamp post landed on the ground a tree grew in its place. Digory and Polly buried a piece of toffee and it grew into a toffee bush. Aslan, the creator of Narnia, only had to roar to get grass, trees, mountains, and rivers to appear and the animals began to speak. When this happened, a horse named strawberry grew wings and was able to fly near the top of the atmosphere.
In the beginning of the book Digory was reckless and did things to satiasfy his curiosity. When he was on the barren world with Polly even though she warned him he rang the bell to make the witch come to life. Digory had obviousely learned his lesson because when he was picking the apple of life from the tree the witch told him it would make him immortal and save his mom. Digory resisted and left with the apple Aslan wanted him to get.
Digory's uncle Andrew was teleported to Narnia on accident but not near Digory or Polly. Some of the animals thought he was a tree and tried to burry him up to his knees. He was then decided because he could move he was an animal and made a cage of branches and put him in. They then gave Uncle Andrew twigs, leaves, red berries, and so on as food.
In conclusion, my final reason for liking this book was when Aslan gave Digory the apple to save his dying mother. The Narnia series is an excellent series and if you want to read them The Magician's Nephew comes first.
Read This! review by someone from North Boulevard Jan 5, 2007
I read a book called Narnia the Magicians Nephew and I think it was a great book deserving 5 stars because of the adventure and suspense that it contains. The two main characters went in to their attic and crawled through the tunnel that leads to the secret room in Digory's house. His uncle was a scientist and convinced them to put on two rings that took them to another world. This was a very different world then their own and they didn't see anyone else there except themselves. They go to a lot of other worlds where, in their travels, they meet a mean queen and a lion, and watch in curiosity as a new world forms. If you want to now more about this book that I would recommend for readers in 4th grade and up, read Narnia the Magicians Nephew.
