I have been brought up in a Christian home, and I was born again when I was 5. I have owned as a personal Bible only two others for any length of time. My first was a gold colored covered hard back edition Good News Bible. I used that until it literally pretty much disintegrated! :) My next Bible which I was given my Senior year of High School was an NIV version hard back. Then a couple of weeks after my birthday this year, my dad and I accidentally left it in the back of his truck...the same day we had an unexpected rain storm. So, as a late birthday gift, I was told to pick out an edition I wanted, and they would call it a late birthday present.
Well, I have a good Christian friend who has gotten me watching and listening to Charles Stanley's broadcasts. His "life principles" is a very valuable tool when searching the Word for just the right topical information when you need it. So, I recalled an ad for the Bible after a Sunday morning service I watched before heading to church. Then much to my delight, I was able to locate a copy at this site with a soft leather cover.
I am very, very pleased with this Bible, and I highly recommend it to anyone. A life-long Christian may find new perspectives while a "young" to the faith believer may find the answers to some very disquieting questions. A non-believer may find some explanations for why Christians do some of the things we do, by using the included Life Principles throughout the text. | | | | Quiet time again Mar 10, 2010 |
