"XL Edition"? What a cruel joke! HarperCollins should be ashamed of their misleading advertising!
The print is NOT very large (only SLIGHTLY larger than the print in my regular old Harper Collins Study Bible--the difference is almost imperceptible). And the paper is very thin (like Bible paper usually is) so you can see a lot of "bleed-through" from the other side of the page, which makes it even harder to read for people with vision problems.
If you are looking for a Bible with "large print," then DON'T BUY THIS BIBLE! You will be very disappointed. | | | | poor service Dec 27, 2009 |
| I had to cancel my order for this Bible today. I ordered this in November for a Christmas gift, with a gift card to be included. It still has not come and I had to go out to buy it. The large print makes it very easy to read and provides space to make notes. This is the version of the Bible which is chosen by The United Churches Of Christ, Congregational and is far easier to understand than any of the other versions I have read, while still keeping to the original Bible. I read it every day. I like this version, and the larger print is very satisfactory. Our church also purchased a large number of these to put in the pews. It is well bound and should last many, many years.
One point to be aware of, is that it is shaped a little different than most books, being longer in width (7 3/4 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches high). this site has one of the best prices I have found on this Bible. | | |  | XL is still a challenge to read Jul 12, 2009 |
| I purchased the XL print bible for an aging friend. We were excited to find this translation, but when it came, the print was still too small for her to read. It is a challenge to find a contemporary translation with print at or over 15 points. XL would make a good desk copy; it looks nice and is interesting in dimensions for a book.
