| I did alot of research before I went ahead and purchased this bible for my 9 yr old son. I wanted a bible that was compact, NIV version, and a leather cover so he would feel like he had a grown up bible. My son LOVES this bible! It is well constructed and a perfect size for a growing boy. The print is small due to the bible's compact size, yet it is very easy to read still. My son carries this bible with him everywhere, he is so proud to have a "real" bible instead of a little kid's picture bible. The colors on the cover are a deep brown and a pretty orange leather color (not a neon orange like i suspected at first). Inside the bible are many tables at the end that are geared especially for a young child. They can look up "when im feeling angry..." and it will direct them to many bible verses they can read. It also has a good concordance for a bible of this size, and lists of different stories they can read in the bible. Also included are highlights throughout the bible that refer to luke 2:52 (which is the theme of this bible) which teach a boy how to become more like Christ wants him to become, and to be proud of his faith.
