ONCE AGAIN KAREN DID AN AMAZING JOB ON THIS CD. I LOVE EVERY MINUTE. I JUST WISH SHE DID THE WHOLE CD LIVE BECAUSE SHE SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER LIVE THEN IN THE STUDIO. BUT OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE THIS CD. KAREN IS THE BEST
....Just Because she's Karen Clark-Sheard Feb 13, 2006
Let me tell ya....this was a slamming recording...I love her doing live recordings...she should always have that aspect to her recordings.... D.Lawrence on producing seat again....I must say...he's done it again..and he'll probably do it again......."We Acknowledge You" ... was the jam of 2003... "We Are Not Ashamed" was a great remake of the Crouch classic...I'm so sorry Martha Muzzuni...you have great song writing skills...but Karen pulled "Glorious" and "God is Here" from under your chords....I was asleep one night...(and I sleep with my music on)...and I awoke crying because of the ad-libs in "God is Here" (around 6:01) were so powerful and soul-piercing...."The Heavens are Telling" has this Smallwood-spin...and You would think its Tri-City with BGV...but I believe it was a group of collected singers...but not the full Tri-City......."You Loved me"...was so urbantized.....I felt like Karen just put the spin on it...especially with the natural reverb...it's great....I'm not one for R & B...(grew up on Gospel and I'm addicted)...but I didn't know Jill Scott did it first....yet Karen clarifies who she is singing about....."I Owe" is a great choir song...my lil brother, who is 7, thought it was Kirk Franklin's "Hosanna" but it was a great track.......moreoever, I recommend you slip this in ya cart....
A Good CD Feb 7, 2006
Before purchasing this one, I heard a friend say it was just ok. Being the person I am, I never take anyone's word, I form my own opinion. Karen is simply a blessed and gifted vocalist. Tracks 1-6 can be played w/out skipping one, although I thought "Glorious" written by Israel Houghton and Martha Munizzi was out of place simply because Martha had already recorded it.
"We Are Not Ashamed" features younger divas Mary Mary - good song
"The Heavens Are Telling" - the chior kills it with the modulations. Wow, those are some great singers!!!
"God Is Here" - ultimate worship song and one of my favorites!
"You Loved Me" - Karen accomplishes something new and dynamic by making her own echos - Karen has phenomenal vocal ability! All I can say is: "WOW!" Has anyone else done this before?
Alright now - for everyone saying that Kierra "Kiki" Sheard is going to one day sing circles around Mom...well I don't know. Kierra sangs now...BUT she's got a long way to go. I enjoy seeing Dr. Mattie Moss's legacy continue through Kiki. By the way, do any of the other sisters have children with the vocal ability that Kierra has or that sing at all?
This is a good cd.
Good Job Karen! Jul 5, 2005
I thought the songs on this album were wonderful!! "We Are Not Ashamed" w/Mary Mary is my favorite, and "God Is Here" just brings such a comfort when you listen to it. The only song I don't like is "Don't Change", but Kiki and Mom tore it up on "You Love Me' (which uses the music for Jill Scott's "Lyzel in E Flat"), and as always, Karen makes you want to get up and dance, and sing right along with her!!! If you don't have this album, you are seriously missing out!
The Third Installment of KCS and it is LIKE THAT Mar 21, 2005
WOW what an album I was moved so much by this CD. Karen really showed the vocal ability she is known for on this album I was blown away on "You Loved Me" a cover of the Jill Scott hit Karen tore that song up along with the help of her daughter whom is on her way to be a great gospel singer. I alos love the songs Sometimes,Go Ahead with Missy, We Acknowlegde You, We Are Not Ashamed and Glorious KCS is my favorite singer period and she has done it again on this album I was very pleased
