Kutless can write rock with the best of them. The anthemic "Tonight" is my favorite song and gets my blood pumping. "Your Touch", "In Me" & "Run" start the CD great but "Vow, Pride Away, Down, Again, Dry, This Time, Saved and Grace & Love" are just that very dry and more pop tunes and seem like they were written for filler material. The four mentioned though are well worth the price of the CD unless you'd just rather download them off the internet.
Great CD Oct 15, 2006
Kutless' self titled debut is a great rock album. It has distinctive vocals, powerful instrumentation, and solid Christian lyrics.
The sound on this CD ranges from the very hard 'Tonight' to the rather soft 'Grace And Love'. Most of the songs lean toward the harder end of the spectrum. Virtually all of them are enjoyable.
Tracks that are particularly good include the following: Your Touch, Run, Vow, Down, and Dry. A couple of the songs have vocals that are a little too screamy for my taste, but overall it is very good.
If you like harder rock, this would be a good choice.
no imagination Oct 4, 2006
This disc lacks imagination. They sound Creed like but they are a wee bit softer. I dont like this music anymore but when I did I failed to realize that Kutless lacks meaning in their songs. I mean look at the titles Down, Away, Tonight. Not that these songs are confusing metaphors like some Christian rocker"s songs are. These songs lack depth and creativity. And the music sounds like any other band out today.
I would stay away from this. Listen to Creed instead
Definitely better than Thousand Foot Krutch Jan 7, 2006
Already loving 'Strong Tower' and 'Sea of Faces' (alright, so I was late to the Christian rock scene), I decided to get both this album and Thousand Foot Krutch's 'Phenomenon' at the same time. Kutless is clearly the better band in this instance because you can truly hear their devotion to Jesus Christ through their lyrics - unlike TFK. Their lyrics are hard-core, but they touch on the agressive aspects of faith that are typically forgotten in the wishy-washy world that we live in. Hats off to Kutless, and, sorry TFK, my Rawkfist has a thumb pointing down.
Favorite Christian Rock CD Nov 28, 2005
I own a number of christian rock cds but this one really is the best. I only got into christian rock because of kutless "sea of faces" cd, and after listening to that I bought this one too. Since then I've bought a number of other group's cds but I always come back to this one. All kutless cds are great, but if you like christian rock you will love this cd. It just shouldn't be passed up. This cd is amazing!
