Even Better LIVE  Aug 16, 2005
I work for a festival the boys recently played at. We literally shut down the production office to see them play. It was a circus;it was awesome. Who knew a person could sing and swing from a trappese simultaneously...? There was also a 4th member returning from the Earthsuit days - any guesses who?

If you like to sing, like to dance, like lions and tiger and bears - OH YES! - go see MM live.

Live Show...  Jul 27, 2005
I saw Mute Math at Lifest 2005. WOW. Their live show was amazing. They have so much energy and they are very talented. After the show I ran to their merch booth and bought this cd. It's not as good as their concert was, but it still is a great cd, and it is definitely worth buying. My favorite song on it is Peculiar People. At their concert they played a song called Chaos which was excellent so hopefully that will be on their full length when it comes out!
Breath of fresh air.  Jul 14, 2005
Mute Math has got to be the band that really stands out from the rest, musically wise. They have their own sound and style ranging from jazz, ska, and rock all rolled into one. Very unique.

The first single "Control" is fast and full of energy.

The second single "Peculiar People" is more mellow, and musically moving, sounds like a ska, jazz song with the trumpet sound in the back.

Overall great cd, listen to one of the song and you will be hooked on this genre mixing, rocking and talented band.
Awesome Diversity   Jul 13, 2005
I love this CD. I heard "Control" on Wow 2005, and knew I had to have this album. It is amazing how these guys can take seven songs, and make them so diverse, and unique, and utterly different from one another, while making this a consistent and fun listening experience.

The first song, "Control" is an amazing rock/funk hybrid that takes you on a wild atmospheric ride.

Track 2 is called Peculiar People. It is about christians being different, and standing out. It is a very fun song, it is full of upbeat drum grooves, synth, and once again, atmospheric bliss.

Track 3 "OK" is encouraging, but obviously the weakest song on the album. While it is still unique, and good, it loses some of the lyrical cleverness of the other songs. It is also a slow ballad.

Track 4 "Reset" is an awesome instrumental track. It will totally blow you away. It has some awesome synth sounds, some great solo instruments, and a pounding percussive set that will leave you breathless!"

Track 5 "Plan B" is an aggressive punk rock track. It is atmospheric, loud, and good fun. Definately one of the best songs on the album.

Track 6 "Progress" Is another great track, but not as interesting as "Plan B" or "Control."

Track 7 "Afterward" Is just a few synth notes played over and over for atmospheric sound, and a good closing.
I wholeheartedly reccomend this awesome album. It is a beautiful mix of Punk Rock, Funk, Techno, and Pop.
