The One Year Bible For Women NLT is set up a bit different than a typical Bible. You get a portion of the old testament, a portion of the new testament, a portion of Psalms and a portion of Proverbs in a daily reading. The readings are set up to take only about 15 minutes per day - perfect for today's "run here - run there" society. There are also reading plans for two and three years if you prefer to spread it out over a longer period of time.
This Bible is The New Living Translation. I've read many different versions of the Bible over the years and always return to the NIV. However, I like having more than one version for comparison purposes. I will read this Bible and then look up the same verse in my NIV and compare the two translations. The NLT is easy to read and understand.
This is a visually beautiful Bible. The cover is done in pinks and greens and is very soothing to look at. The inside is delicate and has pink accents and highlights. Definitely a Bible for a woman. I love picking it up at the end of the day.

| The One Year Bible for Women is a wonderful way to read through the Word in one year. The Bible begins at the beginning of Genesis, Matthew, Psalms and Proverbs and moves forward from there. It's written in the New Living Translation for easy understanding and includes a verse-finder in the back of the book. Its beautiful packaging makes this soft-cover volume perfect for gift-giving or for your own enjoyment. If you struggle in your daily reading then this might be the solution for you. |

I received a copy of the One Year Bible for Women from Tyndale Publishers and at first I didn't quite understand it. I was trying to look up the verses and books in it like any other Bible, but they were all out of order! A little while later I realized the Bible is set up as a devotional so you can read the entire Bible within a year's time. I still have my actual Bible for church, but this is my study Bible now. I love it very much and for this I give it 5 stars.

| I can finally read the entire Bible May 7, 2010 |
The One Year Bible for Women NLT is a bit different from a traditional Bible. Yes, it has all the complete books of the Bible (written in the New Living Translation) but they are not in the order you would expect them to be in. The One Year Bible is designed to help you read the entire Bible in one year, and as such, is laid out by day (starting with January 1st) and each day contains a chapter from an Old Testament book, a chapter from a New Testament book, a Psalm and a Proverb. When read each day, the chapters are in order as they would appear in a traditional Bible, but by allowing you to read from the Old and New Testament simultaneously, it really makes it more interesting and keeps me coming back to it each day.
Being designed for women, the interior of this Bible is gorgeous, with pink designs and pink accented text. The layout and the style are perfect for me to feel really at home reading this Bible, plus each month starts with a "Reflections" page that helps prepare you for the month ahead.
I look forward to reading this Bible every day. I used to try and read the Bible starting at Genesis, but never seemed to get very far because the Old Testament can be a little daunting, and I'd struggle with Genesis and Exodus and I've probably read each of them about 10 times but that's as far as I could get. With the One Year Bible, I no longer struggle with that, and the Bible reads more like a novel with 2 stories interwoven - and each day I look forward to find out what will happen next.

| My best friend & I decided we'd make this one of our New Year's Resolutions...to read through the Bible in 1 year. Well, with this version it makes it soo easy & possible to do!! It's been a month & we're still going strong, right on target! You get a little Old, New, Psalms & Proverbs everyday in a language you can truly understand and learn from!
