| I am a huge fan of Saxon math and have used the curriculum successfully homeschooling my own children. This book, however, is not up to the standard I expect of Saxon textbooks. First, it is FULL of errors. I am astounded that this book and its corresponding solution manual and test booklet went to press without a careful editing. Second, many of the problems in the homework set are "applications" that really stretch the concepts being presented. I prefer a more straightforward approach. I used this book in a classroom setting for the first time this year, and even my brightest students became frustrated with the unnecessarily convoluted homework problems and the frequent errors in the text and solution manual. The book does present important concepts clearly in the Saxon tradition, but without straightforward homework problems and correct solutions, many students will have trouble mastering skills, particularly in a homeschool setting. My suggestion: wait for the second edition or check out Harold Jacob's geometry instead. | | |  | Finally! Jul 6, 2009 |
I have been waiting forever for a Saxon geometry book. We haven't started using it yet, but I have looked through it and it looks amazing!
